Stephen R. Stern is a founding partner of Hoffinger, Stern and Ross, LLP. Throughout the course of Mr. Stern's practice, which is centered on General, Commercial Law as well as Corporate, Commercial, Intellectual Property, Estate, Contract and General Litigation, he has acted as counsel for publicly held
companies, privately held entities and sole proprietorships in a wide variety of
matters and disputes (e.g., varied commercial and contract matters, general
commercial law, secured lending, employment matters, entertainment, real
estate, estate matters, manufacturing, distribution, licensing, merchandising,
employment, intellectual property, antitrust, vitamins and dietary supplements,
publishing, entertainment, advertising, etc. in the national and international
arenas). Mr. Stern has litigated issues related to the foregoing and has also
litigated complex class actions and mass torts.
A significant part of Mr. Stern's practice involves varied commercial
and contract negotiations, as well as lease negotiations (including
shopping mall and strip center leases), negotiation of employment and severance
agreements, real estate transactions (both simple and complex), and estate
litigation matters. Mr. Stern is an experienced litigator in federal, state and
bankruptcy courts.
Mr. Stern is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York (1973). He is
also admitted to the bars of Southern District and Eastern District of New York, as well as the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeal, the United States Tax
Court. Mr. Stern has appeared pro hac vice before the federal and state courts
of New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, as well as
various Bankruptcy Courts in New York, New Jersey, Texas and California.
In addition to litigating in a variety of United States federal and state
courts, Mr. Stern has conducted mediations and arbitrations and appeared
before various administrative agencies of both federal and various state
governments.
